"The Good Shepherd" by Gunnar Gunnarsson is a lovely story about an Icelandic shepherd and his wether and his dog as they go out to find the sheep lost in the mountains. This out of print book is great reading for Icelandic sheep enthusiasts and I try to keep used copies in stock. Inquire as to availability. "Independent People" by Haldor Laxness is another good Iceland novel. The story of a shepherd and his struggle to remain independent is not only a touching story about shepherding, but also has timeless themes of great human interest. Another used book I try to stock.
