This shy ewe is well built and big! Her 2005 lambs out of Iceland ram Abel were stunning; we kept the daughter in the flock and she went on to twin as a one winter ewe. The next year we bred Ember to a Kunningison and again, outstanding twins. We are retaining that daughter as well. Ember is proving to be an exceptional foundation flock ewe. Below are the three daughters of Ember that we have retained in the flock, as they are even better built than their dam.

This gorgeous ewe (aren't they all?) delivered a wonderful set of twins (unassisted) as a one winter ewe.They grew out to be as big as singles and as big as twins out of older ewes. What a star in the making she is! The next year she repeated her performance and her lambs were even more spectacular. Her very stocky, meaty & fleecy son out of Tulison joined the ram pen this year. Alexa is shown above at 2 years of age. Alexa's first daughter twinned as a yearling and her daughter the next season also twinned as a yearling! Great maternal line here!

This extremely well built ewe is out of our Kunningison. Also very fast growing,, she has an exceptionally silky and crimpy fleece. Wynona is shown above at one year of age. She has also become extremely friendly and comes up to me to be petted, and chases the other ewes away so they can't get my attention. Wynona is shown above as a 5 month old lamb in full fleece, and also shorn at 6 months.

Another winner out of Ember! The breeding between Ember & Kunningison was so wonderful that we repeated the breeding.. And lo and behold, we discovered Kunningison and Ember both carried spotting! This ewe was a keeper from the start.  Ireland is shown above left as a 5 month old lamb and above right, shorn, as a yearling. In the middle, she is shown as at 1 1/2 years. She lost her one winter pregnancy, so we are hoping for nice lambs in 2009.

What an elegant and gorgeous ewe this lamb is, much like her dam, Alexa (above).
She had "presence" from the day she was born. She also has no fear, and is always going up to the dogs, to face them down and is first to watch when anything different is going on -- acts very leaderlike, which she should since she is the daughter of a leader ram.
