| Icelandic chickens joined our farm in the summer of 2005. We successfully hatched out some eggs that we purchased from Lyle Behl (thanks Lyle!). The Icelandic chickens we have are very colorful and medium sized birds. They feathered out sooner (than our other breeds do) and are great foragers; they free range throughout the acres of pastures on the farm. They are also very fast and remind me more of the "road runner" than a chicken in the way that they move. They are also very hard to photograph! |
